A working mess is better than nothing

No real explanation needed here. This happens more often than one would think.
And I would add that well came to a point where this messy program had to be suddenly changed. I can not emphasis enough that well written, expressive and sufficient tests are the only thing that will get you out of this mess.
So if you decide to keep messy code, then donate at least some time for a view tests…
